In 2015, the leadership of Duarte Christian Church were confronted by the substantial costs of upkeep for their aging church facility as well as their inability to provide a meaningful contribution to their soon-to-be-retiring pastor’s pension fund. In a desire to ensure the legacy of their church was connected to new church launches and growth, they joined the EastLake Church network and their facility was sold, with the proceeds utilized to launch a new EastLake Church location in a growing community. Additionally, EastLake Church was able to step up and provide a contribution to the church’s retiring pastor, ensuring that he would be provided for in honor of his many years of faithful service.
